On May 6, 2020, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia lifted the state of emergency that was declared March 15, 2020, due to the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic. However, lifting the state of emergency does not mean going back to the daily routine that had existed before its declaration as certain restrictions that were introduced to curb the spread of the coronavirus will remain in force, with certain preventive measures to be respected, such as keeping a safe distance, online classes, ban of mass gatherings, large community events, etc. The Serbian parliament also abolished 11 decrees that were in force during the state of emergency.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development informed higher education institutions in Serbia that they can start with practical and laboratory exercises, starting from May, 15, 2020. The University of Novi Sad advices foreign Erasmus+ students currently on their mobility period at UNS to closely follow new information by their host institutions and to regularly keep in touch with their faculty coordinators at UNS, in order to inform themselves about the continuation of their activities relating to studies and taking exams. The classes and lectures are expected to continue in the online format.
Finally, the University of Novi Sad advises its international students to keep in touch with their national embassies in Serbia, in order to follow the situation relating to leaving the host country, entering their home country and possible re-entering Serbia in future.
