UNIVERSITY OF NOVI SAD AMONG THE TOP ONE THOUSAND IN THE GLOBAL WEBOMETRICS RANKING OF UNIVERSITIES

Competing with 24,000 Higher Education Institutions worldwide, the University of Novi Sad was ranked 886 in the latest edition of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities in July 2016, thereby finding itself in the company of the top one thousand prestigious universities in the world based on their visibility, web presence, openness, and excellence.

 

Webometrics is an internationally recognized ranking list of universities developed and updated biannually by the Cybermetrics Lab of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). The objective of web indicators used in the methodology of Webometrics is to provide a reliable and comprehensive evaluation of the global performance of individual universities, taking into account their activities and internet outputs, as well as their relevance and impact.

Webometrics ranking of universities depends on the quantity and quality of available and transparent contents published by the respective academic institution, from highly cited web publications to all other contents, including reports, conferences, theses, seminars, digital libraries, and other publications by the university and its faculties, departments, researchers, and students.

In the Webometrics ranking list published in July 2016, the University of Novi Sad was ranked 389th in Europe (competing with 6,023 universities) and 38th in the area of Central and Eastern Europe (competing with 3,039 universities).
