A New Year's concert was held in the Rectorate Building of the University of Novi Sad on 29 December 2016.
Before a crowded amphitheatre, Robert Lakatoš (violin) and Milan Miladinović (piano) gave a concert that was greeted by the audience with a standing ovation. The concert began with Brahms's Scherzo in C minor from the “F-A-E” Sonata, which was then followed by Grieg’s Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 3, Op. 45, in C minor. An exciting and inspiring musical programme was further enriched by the performance of Prokofiev's Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 1, Op. 80, in F minor.
Robet Lakatoš and Milan Miladinović are assistant professors of the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad, and the recipients of numerous international and domestic awards.
In 2015, Robert Lakatoš was the winner of the First Prize of the prestigious Pablo Sarasate International Violin Competition, viewed as one of the greatest acknowledgements in this field in the world.
Before the concert, the academic community and citizens of the four university towns (Novi Sad, Sombor, Zrenjanin and Subotica) were greeted by the Rector of the University of Novi Sad, Prof. Dr. Dušan Nikolić and Dean of the Academy of Arts, Prof. Dr. Siniša Bokan, who expressed their best wishes for the New Year.
