The University of Novi Sad marked the beginning of Spring on 20 March 2017. The main participants in the events were students, as the youngest members of the academic community.
The exhibition Urban acupuncture – the study of the University of Novi Sad campus was opened in the central hall of the Rectorate. It was prepared by the students of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Faculty of Technical Sciences. The Rector of the University of Novi Sad, Prof. Dr. Dušan Nikolić, and the Director of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, Prof. Dr. Darko Reba, greeted the visitors. The exhibition was opened by Stefan Vujić, student of the first year of master’s studies at the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning.
Alongside the exhibition Urban acupuncture – the study of the University of Novi Sad campus in the hall of the central University building, the conceptual design for the planning of a university park was presented. It is the result of the work carried out by the students and staff of the Chair of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture at the Department of Fruit Growing, Viticulture, Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Agriculture. After the introductory speech given by Prof. Dr. Saša Orlović, Vice-Rector for Finance and Organisation, the conceptual design was presented by the students of the Faculty of Agriculture, Jelena Bjelogrlić and Aleksandra Panić.
The string quartet Tritonus, which is comprised of the students from the Academy of Arts, Radmila Jovanović, Lidija Lukičić, Danijela Lola Lapić and Katarina Ćirić, performed Jovan Ivanović’s composition Waves of the Danube, as well as Scott Joplin’s The Entertainment, Ástor Piazzolla’s Libertango and Goran Bregović’s Tango.
At noon, the students of the Department of Fruit Growing, Viticulture, Horticulture and Landscape Architecture planted flower seedlings and other ornamental plants, and thus started with the process of beautifying the landscape as part of the project Return of the flower paths to the University campus.

The central campus of the University of Novi Sad is a recognisable and distinct landmark of the University. It is situated on the left bank of the river Danube, opposite the Petrovaradin Fortress and in the vicinity of the old city center. It covers an area of 260 thousand square meters. It is the location of the faculties and institutes of the University of Novi Sad, as well as student dorms and restaurants, Institute of student health care, sports and other facilities.
