
A follow-up meeting was held at the Central University Building of the University of Novi Sad on December 27, 2017 on improving the study conditions and employability of students with disabilities at the University of Novi Sad. The keynote speeches were delivered at the gathering by: Prof. Dr. Biljana Abramović, Vice-Rector for Education at the University of Novi Sad, Prof. Dr. Pavle Milenković, Coordinator of the Erasmus+ project Trans2Work at the University, Prof. Dr. Jasmina Klemenović, Coordinator of the Center for Student Support at the Faculty of Philosophy, and Stefan Savić, Mentor for Students with Disabilities.
The achievements to date as well as tendencies towards further improving the study conditions for students with disabilities at the University of Novi Sad were presented at the aforesaid meeting.
Moreover, the Erasmus+ project Trans2Work, which is dedicated to mobility and employability of students with disabilities and implemented with the support from the European Union, partners from Europe and the region as well as the University of Novi Sad, was introduced in more detail. The project offers the possibility of exchanging students with disabilities in the form of two-month internships in the countries of the region. In addition, interested students have at their disposal a regional web portal for employment of individuals with disabilities who receive higher education.
Further discussions were held at the meeting about the study conditions for students with disabilities at the University of Novi Sad, support services and how these services are rendered. The role of the University Info-Center was presented in greater detail as well as the support services offered by the Center for Student Support at the Faculty of Philosophy, the Association of Students with Disabilities in Novi Sad, the Living Upright Center and the National Employment Service.
