DIRECTORS OF CERN VISITED THE UNIVERSITY OF NOVI SAD

 

The guests were received by the Rector Prof. Dr. Dušan Nikolić together with Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. Saša Orlović, Prof. Dr. Snežana Smederevac, and Prof. Dr. Biljana Abramović at the Central University Building. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Milica Pavkov Hrvojević, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Prof. Dr. Dragan Šešlija, Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Technical Sciences.

The high-level delegation of CERN has made a longer visit to Serbia in order to ascertain whether our country meets the requirements for a full membership in this organization. The delegation entitled CERN Task Force, following the instructions by the Council and Director-General of CERN, is analyzing the participation of our country to date in this largest scientific organization in Europe and will give recommendations for a full membership. In addition, cooperation with the University of Novi Sad was discussed at the meeting held at the Rectorate of the University of Novi Sad.

The CERN delegation subsequently visited the Faculty of Sciences, the Faculty of Technical Sciences and the company RT-RK.
