The delegation of the Parliament of Upper Austria, headed by the President of the Parliament Mr. Viktor Sigl, visited the University of Novi Sad on October 29, 2018. The delegation also included: Vice-Presidents of the Parliament of Upper Austria Adalberg Cramer and Gerda Weichsler-Hauer, members of the Parliament Annemarie Brunner, Alexander Nerat and Ulrike Böker, associates Armin Schusterbauer, Stefan Neissl, Hans Aigner and Elisabeth Schatzl, as well as the Professor the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria Dr. Berthold Kerschbaumer.
The guests were welcomed by the Vice-Rectors of the University of Novi Sad Prof. Dr. Dejan Madić, Prof. Dr. Sanja Podunavac Kuzmanović and Prof. Dr. Stevan Stankovski. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Mirko Savić from the Faculty of Economics in Subotica of the University of Novi Sad.
The representatives of the University of Novi Sad presented the activities in the field of the University international cooperation with the higher education institutions from Austria. Furthermore, a discussion during the meeting also included topics about the possibilities to enrich and widen the cooperation, especially with the academic institutions from Upper Austria.
The visit was realized as part of the official programme of the visit to the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina from October 29th to 31st 2018.

Upper Austria is one of nine Austrian federal provinces. The city of Linz is the administrative seat of the Province. The Province has a population of around 1.4 million inhabitants and it is the third largest Austrian province according to this criteria. It is also the fourth largest Austrian province according to the size of its territory, encompassing 11,981.92 km². Upper Austria borders the following Austrian provinces: Lower Austria, Styria and Salzburg, as well as Germany in the West and Czech Republic in the North.
Federal province of Upper Austria is the leading region in Austria in the field of industry, export and technology. Around one quarter of the national industrial production and export in Austria comes from this province. Upper Austria is also considered to be one of the leading industrial regions in Europe.
