VISIT BY THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE ASTRAKHAN STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY

Prof. Dr. Sergey Petrovich Sinchikhin, Head of Chair of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Astrakhan State Medical University, Russian Federation, visited the University of Novi Sad, March 22, 2019, together with his spouse Dr. Marina Evgenievna Sinchikhinа.

The guests were received by the Vice-Rector for International Relations Prof. Dr. Dejan Madić in the Central University Building. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Tihomir Vejnović, full professor of the Chair of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Faculty of Medicine and director of the Clinic of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Clinical Centre of Vojvodina.

During the meeting, the possibilities to formally establish the cooperation between the University of Novi Sad and Astrakhan State Medical University were discussed.

The Astrakhan State Medical University (Астраханский государственный медицинский университет) is one of the oldest medical institutions in Russia. It was founded in 1918 and it is the only state university in Russia that offers several study programmes, including general medicine, pharmacy and dentistry, in Russian, English and French languages. The University encompasses faculties in the fields of medicine, preventive medicine, paediatrics, clinical psychology, management and nursing, pharmacy, including also secondary vocational studies, apart from academic studies.
