The academic delegation of Nova University in Lisbon (Universidade Nova de Lisboa), Portugal, headed by the Vice-Rector for International Development and Internationalization Prof. Dr. João Amaro de Matos, visited the University of Novi Sad from June 24th to 28th, 2019. The visit was organized as part of the bilateral international cooperation between the University of Novi Sad and Nova University within the Erasmus+ programme.
The guests were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Relations Prof. Dr. Dejan Madić, on the first day of their visit, June 24th, 2019, at the Rector's Office of the University of Novi Sad. On that occasion the representatives of two universities discussed the possibilities to enhance the successful bilateral university cooperation.
During their stay in Novi Sad, the delegation was also planned to visit several University constituents, such as the BioSense Institute, Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Technical Sciences and Faculty of Medicine, in order to discuss in more detail the joint activities that could be realized in period to come.
Nova University in Lisbon was founded in 1973 and it is the youngest of three state universities in the Portuguese capital. It has a decentralized organizational structure, with 20,000 students and 1,700 teaching staff and researchers. The overall number of students encompasses also 2,500 foreign students from 109 countries. The University comprises nine schools in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, social sciences and humanities, business studies and economy, medicine, law, hygiene and tropical medicine, chemical and biological engineering, public health, and information management.
