The Rector of the University of Novi Sad Prof. Dr. Dejan Jakšić met with the attaché for cooperation of the Embassy of France Mr. Bertrand Millet at the Rector's Office on June 18th, 2019. Mr. Millet visited the University of Novi Sad together with the associates of the French Institute in Serbia Ms. Vesna Adamović and Ms. Sandra Elezović.
The representatives of the University of Novi Sad and the French Embassy discussed the ongoing successful and versatile cooperation between the institutions, especially through the activities of the French Institute in Serbia, and also talked about the perspective projects in the future.
The French Institute in Serbia has offices in Belgrade, Niš and Novi Sad. It is a part of a worldwide network of more than 100 French Institutes. The mission of the Institute is to strengthen ties between France and Serbia in the field of art, culture, education and promotion of the French language, as well as in higher education, research and other fields. The French Institute is a successor of the French Cultural Centre in Belgrade, a cultural and educational operator of the French Embassy.
The University of Novi Sad and the French Institute in Serbia have had a long lasting successful cooperation that has been realized through different kinds of activities, some of them being the organization of the educational fair of French higher education institutions at the University Campus, promotion of scholarship programmes provided by the French Government for study and research periods in French institutions, organization of exhibitions and participation at the International Fair of Education and Science in Novi Sad.
