The University of Novi Sad hosted a delegation of the China-UK Low Carbon College, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, on June 13th 2019. The LCC SJTU is a unique higher education institution, founded within the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, one of the leading China universities, in partnership with the University of Edinburgh and the University College London.
Founded in 2017, the China-UK Low Carbon College is the first higher education institution in China engaged in a pioneer research and education in the field of low carbon emissions. The College currently offers two master programmes – Low Carbon Environment and Low Carbon Energy – that offer students a possibility to gain double degree from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the University of Edinburgh. The studies are carried out in English language and usually last 2.5 years with the second year spent at the University of Edinburgh. The College has seven research centres that focus on different aspects of low carbon emissions: Carbon Finance and Carbon Management; Smart Energy and Big Data; Renewables and Energy Storage; Low Carbon Combustion and Engine System; Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage; Sustainable Technologies and Waste Resource Utilization; Low Carbon Design and Manufacture.
The Vice-Rector for International Relations of the University of Novi Sad Prof. Dr. Dejan Madić met with the delegation of SJTU LCC College that was headed by the Vice-Dean Professor Min Xu. The representatives of the Faculty of Technology, Prof. Dr. Senka Vidović, Faculty Vice-Dean for Science, and Prof. Dr. Jelena Vulić also attended the meeting.
The representatives of both universities expressed their interest in establishing the bilateral cooperation in the fields of higher education and research of common interest.
