INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY ALLIANCE UNIART ESTABLISHED

The University of Novi Sad is one of the founding institutions of the newly formed Alliance of Universities of Artistic Education (UNIART), which brought together representatives of universities from the region, wider Europe and the People's Republic of China who have art education in their education systems.

The founding conference of the UNIART alliance was held online from October 27 to 29, 2021. The three-day conference gathered representatives of the Academy of Arts Novi Sad, University of Novi Sad, the Academy of Arts, University of Banja Luka, the Academy of Performing Arts, University of Sarajevo, the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, University of Timisoara, and partner universities from the People's Republic of China: Communication University of China Beijing, Central Academy of Drama Beijing, Shanghai Theater Academy, Southeast University Nanjing, Hebei Academy of Fine Arts Shijiazhuang, Shandong Normal University Jinan and Shandghai Film Academy - Shanghai University.

The goal of the UNIART alliance is to integrate knowledge on innovations in higher education in the field of art. The Alliance was formed under the initiative for cooperation of the People's Republic of China with 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

The establishment of the Alliance was initiated by the Academy of Arts of the University of Novi Sad, in cooperation with the China Education Association for International Exchange. The Alliance will act as a link between different universities and will aim to improve communication and cooperation between its members. Also, the Alliance will serve as the platform for more intensive cooperation within art research, as well as for academic exchange.
